Russia urges Armenia, Azerbaijan to avoid steps leading to escalation of tension
Russia urges Armenia and Azerbaijan to avoid the steps that lead to the escalation of tension, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Alexander Lukashevich said at a press conference on Nov.13, TASS news agency reported.

He said that Moscow`s position was reflected in the OSCE Minsk Group`s statement dated November 12.

`We call on the sides to refrain from actions to escalate the current situation. We urge the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders to comply with the statements issued at the meetings on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict in Sochi, Newport and Paris. We would like to remind the parties of their obligations to seek a peaceful settlement of the conflict,` he said.

Polad Bulbuloglu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Russia, also said in an interview to Radio Kommersant that , `As the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair country, the Russian Federation recognizes Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity. Nagorno-Karabakh, occupied by Armenian Armed Forces, is a part of Azerbaijan. I ask you to coordinate your editorial policy with your state policy, because as the OSCE MG co-chair country, Russia`s state policy does not recognize the so-called `Nagorno-Karabakh Republic”. I have an official note of the Russian Foreign Ministry which points out that Russia does not recognize the so-called “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic” and Nagorno-Karabakh has no representation in Russia,” he said.
