Georgia, US discuss military cooperation prospects
Georgian Defense Minister Mindia Janelidze met with the Chief of the US Marine Corps, European Command, Lieutenant General Robert Naylor.

The sides discussed a special package obtained by Georgia at the NATO Wales summit and further cooperation prospects, the Georgian defense ministry told Trend Nov. 19.

The special attention was paid to Georgia`s participation in the ISAF mission and its joining the "Resolute support" mission after 2015.

Naylor thanked the Georgian side for its contribution to the ISAF mission and expressed hope for further cooperation between Georgian servicemen and US Marine corps.

The sides discussed the different directions of the Georgian-US military cooperation, as well as regional security issues and situation in Ukraine.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze, his deputy, Colonel Giorgi Kbiltsetshlashvili, US Ambassador Richard Norland, US military attache, Colonel Matthew Dimmick and others attended the meeting.
