“The Azerbaijani people also experienced similar tragedies, and the whole Azerbaijani community and religious communities bother that these terrible disasters may become regular,” says the appeal.
The appeal also mentions the facts of occupation of Azerbaijani territories and crimes committed against Azerbaijanis.
According to the appeal, it is necessary to apply the principles of international law in interstate and interethnic relations and the norms of civil coexistence.
“Nonetheless, it is a pity that the Armenians terrorists have not yet been punished for the crime they committed. They have not fulfilled the four resolutions of the UN Security Council requiring the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian troops from Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding district which they invaded. Despite Azerbaijan has called out to the international community for years, the Khojaly genocide fact has not yet been given deserved political and legal assessment so far. On behalf of our religious community, once again do we call on the international community to give a political and legal assessment for the genocidal crime Azerbaijanis suffered at the hands of Armenian invaders,” the appeal says.
The appeal was made by Sheikh-ul Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, the Chairman of Caucasus Muslims Board, Alexander, the Archbishop of Baku and Azerbaijan, Melih Yevdayev, the Head of the Community of Mountain Jews in Azerbaijan, Gennady Zelmanovich, the Chairman of the Baku Community of European Jews, Robert Mobili, the Chairman of Alban-Udi Christian Community, and Ordinary Vladimir Fekete, the Head of the Catholic Community in Azerbaijan.
