On April 2, large-scale ceasefire violations took place along the contact line in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, leading to dozens of fatalities and hundreds of wounded soldiers from Armenian side, AzVision.az reports.

Mainly, headlines such as `Why the wounded soldiers are brought to Yerevan?`, `Why Armenian Defense Ministry is silent over its losses?`, etc have occupied the Armenian media for two days.

Armenian media openly admits that they have many losses in the recent battles in Karabakh. In this regard, there are not enough places to hospitalize them. Thus, they have sent to Yerevan by cars and helicopters, AzVision.az reports citing anspress.com.

Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has already disclosed its martyrs, but the Armenian side insists on concealing its real losses, Armenian Report writes.

`Armenian journalist could also get information from local civilians, medical centers and random witnesses of the events and from the church in which dead soldiers were brought to. The witnesses say terrible facts: There are too many wounded soldiers that they have not enough vehicles and helicopters to carry them. Therefore, most of them die on the way to hospitals. We suffer from lack of medicines and doctors`, the Armenian newspaper reports.

Armenian media blames on its Defense Ministry for concealing its losses and spreading baseless information. Not surprisingly, mothers of soldiers held the next anti-government protest action.

During an extraordinary meeting of the National Security Council Armenian president Serj Sargsyan said that, the Armenian side has 18 casualties and 35 wounded. However, the mothers of soldiers don`t believe in him.

Six Armenian tanks, 15 gun mounts and reinforced engineering structures have been destroyed and more than 100 servicemen of the Armenian Armed Forces were wounded and killed during the fights, the ministry said.

Twelve servicemen of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces heroically died, one Mi-24 helicopter was shot down and one tank damaged by a mine, according to the ministry.

The leadership of the defense ministry expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased servicemen of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

The counter-attack was made following provocations of the Armenian armed forces on the night of April 2, which resulted in deaths and injuries of civilians. The decision on the response measures on the Aghdere-Terter-Aghdam and Khojavand-Fuzuli directions was made by the command of the Azerbaijani armed forces.

As a result of the operation, the heights near the village of Talish, which were posing a threat to the Goranboy district and Naftalan city, as well as the Seysulan settlement, have been cleared of the enemy forces.

In order to protect the city of Horadiz, the Azerbaijani army took the height ‘Lale Tepe’ under its control, which allowed to carry out supervision of a large area.
