Russian politician: There
“There’s no need to speak of the similarity about the development of the conflicts in the post-Soviet area. Because they all fundamentally differ from one another, each with its own specific feature”.

Member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, director of the Russian Institute of Political Studies, well-known politician Sergei Markov made the above statement in his speech at the round table titled “Hot spots in the post-Soviet area: The resumption risk and regulation prospects of armed conflicts” held at The Parliamentary Newspaper.

Commenting on the Ukrainian crisis, S. Markov noted that the main reason for this conflict is, with the team led by Joe Biden, NATO countries’ desire to overthrow the government in Russia and isolate this country from the outside world: “The main target of the Americans today is to use Ukrainian troops to destabilize the situation in Russia and return Crimea. There’s no question about independent Ukraine right now, and this country needs to be viewed as an invaded country.

The Russian expert also commented on the Azerbaijani-Armenian conflict. According to him, there’s a solution tendency in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict: “Azerbaijan is now trying to make use of the ratio of forces that are newly developing. France and the U.S. have stepped aside from the settlement process of the conflict. The decision to be made is still unknown. But I think a temporary but historical compromise is going to be reached”.

S.Markov said the seven occupied districts could possibly be returned to Azerbaijan: “In exchange for that, the elimination of the blockade by Azerbaijan and Turkey on Armenia can be discussed”.

The Russian politician said the Transnistrian conflict has the tendency to erupt, adding that the conflicts of Abkhazia and South Ossetia can be considered to be partially settled: “There’ll be no new conflicts in the post-Soviet area”.
