US condemns violence in Karabakh conflict zone
The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be resolved peacefully, US ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta told reporters on Wednesday.
He was commenting on the latest escalation of violence on the contact line between Azerbaijani and Armenian troops.

The ambassador said that the US government has condemned the latest violence along the contact line and extended condolences over the deaths.

The US diplomat reiterated that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be resolved through the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group, urging both parties to exercise restraint.

“The Minsk Group co-chairs arrived in Baku today. Working to find a peaceful solution to the conflict is our co-chair in the Minsk Group. So I wouldn’t like to comment on the negotiations in his name. But I can say that we think it’s important to resolve this conflict peacefully,” he added.
