It is too early to asses latest escalation in Karabakh - Russian co-chair
The Russian co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Igor Popov, said on Wednesday that it
“It’s necessary to prevent any further outbreak of hostilities,” Popov told reporters in Baku.

The co-chair recalled that they have already issued a statement regarding the situation on the contact line between Azerbaijani and Armenian troops.

Popov said the Minks Group co-chairs will visit Yerevan tomorrow to hold talks with Armenian authorities. “In Yerevan we will hold talks with Armenian authorities. We will also meet with soldiers on the opposite side of the contact line,” he added.

The co-chair said they today discussed the recent developments along the contact line with the Azerbaijani president and defense minister.

Popov noted that at the end they will issue a statement on the outcome of the visit to the region.
