German Sterligov planning to hold provocative event in Russia
Russian businessman, politician German Sterligov has made a provocative statement while the situation on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops remains tense after the recent confrontation.
Shamil Taghiyev, executive director of the Moscow office of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress, told APA that the businessman, known for his pro-Armenian position, has announced in the media and on social network that he is planning to hold an “Azerbaijan-Armenia peace table” in his own mansion.

Sterligov claims that it is going to be an “unbiased discussion” with the participation of both sides. In his statement, Sterligov called Nagorno-Karabakh “Artsakh” and said he too will represent the Armenian side. The pro-Armenian businessman said he has invited representatives of both countries’ diaspora organizations and embassies.

Taghiyev added that this is yet another provocation from Sterligov.

Azerbaijan issued an international arrest warrant for Sterligov on July 28, 2015. A criminal case has been launched against Russian millionaire German Sterligov for an illegal visit to the occupied Azerbaijani territories. German Sterligov, head of the Board of Directors of German Sterligov Group of Companies, and his family members, who previously entered into a criminal conspiracy with other persons living in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, illegally crossed into the occupied territories avoiding checkpoints and the protected state border of Azerbaijan.
