Answering questions of TV host Emma Farne, Ahmadzade referred to the UN Security Council resolutions and other international documents “that urge Armenia to withdraw its troops from the occupied Azerbaijani territories”. “The presence of the Armenian troops in the occupied Azerbaijani territories is the main barrier to settlement of the conflict. Armenia is going through a sever social and economic crisis so it tries to keep the power in hand by escalating tension on the line of contact with Azerbaijan,” the Ambassador said.
Ahmadzade said Armenia is also spreading false news about Azerbaijan, misleading the international community.
He also commented on the recent escalation of violence in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, saying the Azerbaijani army is just fulfilling its duty under international humanitarian law
