Education ministry holds consultations on new state program on education abroad
Currently, 4323 foreign students are studying in higher education institutions of Azerbaijan.
Head of the international relations sector of International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Education, Nijat Musayev said that a new mechanism is being applied for attracting more foreign students.

He said the Ministry of Education offered higher education institutions to take more active part in international education fairs, solve the problems of hostels and be active in social networks. As the State Program on education of Azerbaijani youth abroad in 2007-2015 was suspended, consultations are held on a new state program. The government has analyzed the results of the current program. A 1-year break was declared for covering additional priorities in a new program. It covers two directions. One of them is studying abroad – bachelor’s, master`s and doctoral degrees. The other is attracting foreign professors to the local higher education institutions,” said the ministry official.
