Man jailed for 7 years for bomb hoax at stadium during opening of 1st Euro Games
Baku Court of Grave Crimes passed on Monday a judgment to sentence Azerbaijani citizen Aydin Khudiyev, 56, to seven years in prison over a bomb hoax at the stadium during the opening ceremony of the first-ever European Games.
On June 12, 2015 – opening day of the first European Games in Baku, Aydin Khudiyev called 112 hot-line of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and gave false information about bomb installation at the Baku Olympic Stadium that was hosting the opening ceremony.

As a result of the investigative measures, Khudiyev was detained. A ‘”Sony" voice recorder and a “Panasonic” were seized from his house.

He faced charges under article #216 (false report about a terrorist act).

Khudiyev was the head of Public Association “Public Education in Road Safety”.
