`Lavrov`s Yerevan visit proves Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is in its active stage`
Popular Russian publication `Izvestia` reads, Russian President Vladimir Putin will do his best to reach a compromise on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict negotiations which is expected to begin in the coming days.

The Russian leader is ready to convince the conflict sides on the necessity of the compromise: `When it comes to talk on halting military operations, the both sides agree to sit at the negotiating table. However, counterclaims emerge and the issue becomes unsolvable. Critical negotiations wait for us and Russia`s mediation is very important for that step.`

According to the source, Russia`s regulation process is about to return a part of Armenian-occupied lands to Azerbaijan, deploying peacekeepers in the conflict zone and legitimize Karabakh (i.e, opening the borders and restoration of economic ties). After the de-escalation of tension, it was offered to hold a referendum on the belonging of the region.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov`s Yerevan visit is also aimed to the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. According to the official statement of Kremlin, Lavrov is expected to meet with the Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Armenian President Serj Sargsyan to settle the conflict within two-day visit.

Lavrov`s Yerevan visit proves, the negotiation process over the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is in its active stage.

Mubariz Ahmedoglu, the Director of the Center of Political Innovations and Technologies does not expect any serious result from Lavrov`s Yerevan visit: `I do not expect any serious result. I believe in Russian President Vladimir Putin`s intentions toward the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. His attempts are quite right and aim to solve the conflict in a short span of time. However, the main executor of the plan is Sergei Lavrov and his surname is `Kalantaryan`. Putin has sent Lavrov for several times to Yerevan to bring Armenians to reason, but he supports Armenia.`

Prior to Lavrov`s visit, the Armenian side made a statement that suggested conditions would not be accepted if the conditions do not meet their interests.

MP from Republican Party of Armenia fraction Artak Davtyan considers, during the Russian FM Sergei Lavrov`s visit to Armenia, none of new offers will be discussed.

As you see, Armenia again shows non-constructive stance on the conflict solution process. Therefore, it is hard to believe in any positive result from the meeting.
