According to the embassy, Dereck Hogan was not with the vehicle at the time of the incident.
“No embassy employees were harmed. A police investigation is ongoing. And we defer all other inquiries to the local authorities,” said the embassy.
Note that, the incident took place last night in Bulaq restaurant in Baku’s Badamdar settlement. Two people—Fuad Akbarov and Suleyman Abdullayev—were wounded in the armed incident between a group of people. Both of the wounded are in hospital.
One of those responsible has been arrested. Police are now on the lookout for the other perpetuators.
