“Recently, Georgia takes illegal steps against Turkish businessmen and cargo transportations, imposes fines. This may cause Turkish businessmen to halt export through Georgia. Out trucks are forcible taken to park and they are obliged to pay 30 GEL for a day. They hold our cargos for weeks, sometimes for months. This is contradiction with the World Trade Organization’s rules. Though Turkey and Georgia has an agreement on free trade, this agreement is ignored. Representatives of Turkish government also say they can do nothing”, the statement says.
Turkish Minister of Customs and Trade has been informed about the issue. The minister said necessary steps will be taken for solution of the problem.
