At least nine dead in Baghdad car bomb attack
At least nine people were killed on Saturday when a suicide attacker detonated a car bomb at a security checkpoint in northern Baghdad, police sources said, adding that the death toll could rise.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast which wounded a further 28 people, but Islamic State regularly carries out attacks on security forces in the capital, including one near a Shi`ite mosque on Friday that left nine dead.
