Military intervention is not the best response at all, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said.
He was addressing the plenary session on “Platforms and Partnerships for the Prevention of Violent Extremism” held as part of the 7th UNAOC Global Forum in Baku Apr. 26.
Mammadyarov noted that certain nuances should be paid attention in this issue [military intervention].
“We speak of European values. However, these values do not work in conservative countries, in the Middle East. That is why we put so much emphasis on the Alliance of Civilizations,” said the FM. “We now accept that some attempts are being made for the world we inhabit to be reconstructed and reformed. A lot has been done since the collapse of the Soviet regime especially. We still continue this renewal. But we cannot avoid the possible consequences. We cannot do this work except with the help of the UN.”
