`Turkey believes Azerbaijan
“We are always pleased to be in Baku, the city of winds. For centuries, Azerbaijan has been the cradle of different religions and cultures,” Cavusoglu said.
Though 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands are still under occupation, the Azerbaijani people have never lost the culture of living in peace, according to the FM.
Cavusoglu noted that discrimination, Islamophobia and xenophobia prevails throughout the world, which threaten human values.
He added that terrorist organizations like IS, PKK and Al-Qaeda are striving to use vulnerable groups in their own interests.
According to him, some US presidential candidates make statements of discontent.
Turkey’s foreign minister stressed that necessary steps should be taken in order to ensure bright future.
The Alliance of Civilizations and civil societies are very important in this respect, he said, adding that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe can make a significant contribution to intercultural dialogue.
The minister mentioned that Turkey, as an Alliance`s co-founder, believes the goals will be reached.
