As witnesses called 999 for help, one managed to climb back down to safety but the other teenager was still stuck.
The viral footage shows one of the crew making the dangerous descent towards the cliff as he`s blown around in the wind.
The boy was winched to safety and reunited with his family on the beach.
Both teens were uninjured and believed to have been on holiday at the coast on Combe Martin in Devon when they got stuck.
A Coastguard spokesman said: "We are not sure why he was attempting to climb up.
"He got up about 50ft and got stuck but his friend was still at the bottom."
