Armenia to nullify OSCE MG proposals by recognizing so-called regime - ambassador
By recognizing the so-called regime in the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, Armenia will violate all the norms and principles of international law and nullify numerous proposals of the OSCE Minsk Group on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloghlu told the Russian radio Govorit Moskva.

The ambassador urged the Minsk Group co-chairing countries, particularly Russia to react to this issue.

Bulbuloghlu said he thinks sound logic will prevail.

“This issue has been raised in the Armenian parliament several times. Sound logic won every time,” he noted.

The issue of recognizing the so-called regime in Nagorno-Karabakh is similar to the provocations committed by Armenia on April 2, according to the ambassador.

He stressed that Azerbaijan is ready for peace talks although its residential areas are constantly subjected to fire by Armenian armed forces.

Bulbuloglu said the Armenian authorities will bear responsibility for recognition of the so-called regime.

“Azerbaijan is committed to a peaceful resolution to the conflict. If this is not going to happen, then we are ready to settle it by military force. We don’t want people to die. But they do not leave any other way. Freezing the conflict is not a solution,” the ambassador emphasized. “The solution to the problem is very simple. The occupied lands must be freed in accordance with international law. Armenian troops must leave there. The latest events showed that Armenian armed forces are fighting there.”

He added that the second issue has to do with the status of Nagorno-Karabakh.

“But first of all the occupied lands must be freed. The OSCE Minsk Group has been working on it for more than two decades. Proposals remain on the table. But the Armenian side steps back when it comes to fulfilling the resolutions of the UN Security Council. The latest step of Armenia means avoiding the talks. Then what are we supposed to do? Since Armenia avoids the talks, then we have no other option,” Bulbuloglu concluded.
