Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with Latvian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Yuris Maklakovs, AzVision.az reports citing the website of the Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry.
`Azerbaijan and Latvia successfully develop military cooperation in regard with various programmes of the NATO and bilateral relations’, Azerbaijani Defense Minister told.
` Latvia and Azerbaijan have very good relations at political and economic levels. Latvia always supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and condemns Armenia for illegal occupation of Azerbaijani lands`, Hasanov added.
`The Armenian Republic jeopardizes the stability on the contact line by violating ceasefire. It is essential to settle the conflict in regard with the international law norms and principles and the UN Security Council resolutions`, the minister highlighted.
`I do hope that the activity of the diplomat in Azerbaijan will contribute to the further development of Azerbaijan-Latvia ties`, he added.
`We have friendly relations between two countries. Latvia is Azerbaijan’s important partner in Europe. The priority is given to the expansion of the military cooperation between two countries. As an ambassador, I will give my best to improve bilateral relations between Azerbaijan-Latvia`, Yuris Maklakovs stated.
Then, further prospects of military cooperation were discussed.
