Armenia stages armed provocation in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic
Despite the agreement on cessation of military operations on the contact line of troops, Armenian armed forces resorted to another provocation on the border with Azerbaijan.

On May 12 at about 10:30 (UTC+04:00), Azerbaijan’s army positions located in the Shahbuz district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic came under fire from the Armenian positions located in Armenia’s Yeghegnadzor district, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry said in a statement.

As a result of Armenia’s provocation, Azerbaijani army soldier Yusif Guluzade was slightly wounded. Necessary medical aid was rendered to the soldier and there is no danger to his life.

The defense ministry stated that the opposing side was silenced by exact retaliatory fire of the Army Special Forces’ units located in those directions.

Azerbaijan’s ministry noted that the criminal military and political regime in Armenia bears full responsibility for the consequences of its provocations.
