`Some circles seek to provoke denominational division in Azerbaijan`
Pashazade said state-religion relations stand at the highest level in Azerbaijan, although there still remain some difficulties.
As to Iran-Azerbaijan relations, the CMO chairman said some circles have been working hard to undermine bilateral relations between the two countries.
He also spoke of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, calling it the biggest grief for Azerbaijan.
“Religious temples in Karabakh are under occupation. We hope for and want peace. Azerbaijan has liberated a part of its territories while preventing the provocation committed by Armenian armed units in early April. Iran stood by us at the time. The Iranian people have always been with the Azerbaijani people in times of hardship. On my own behalf, I thank the Iranian leadership,” Pashazade added.
Ebrahimi Turkman in his turn noted that Azerbaijan-Iran bilateral ties date back to ancient times.
“Those who seek to undermine Azerbaijan-Iran relations will never succeed in their goal,” he stressed.
