Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has called for an immediate release of Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev taken hostage by Armenian Armed Forces in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Russian FM Sergei Lavrov spoke in this regard at a press conference in Basel.
Answering a question by an Azerbaijani correspondent about Dilgam Asgarov’s Russian citizenship and Russia’s position on this matter, Sergei Lavrov said Moscow wants the hostages to be released or exchanged.
“With a document they signed at the Astrakhan meeting in 2010, the Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents have assumed a commitment on creating a mechanism in hostage exchange. We call on the presidents to fulfill these commitments,” said the FM.
