At least 16 people were killed late Sunday when their bus overturned in northern Peru, the South American country`s Highway Police said on Monday.
According to police reports, the bus carrying passengers skidded off the road before turning over in Jose Sabogal, a town in the province of San Marcos, in the country`s north Cajamarca region.
Another six people were injured.
