Artillery shell found in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has today conducted an inspection at three houses, in 8 sown areas, and 35 explosion sites in the districts of Terter, Aghdam, and Fuzuli, ANAMA told.
According to the information, a 100-mm OF 412 artillery shell was found in Terter’s Eskipara village. An area of 40,320 square meters was cleared.

In the districts of Zardab, Terter, Aghjabedi, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Goranboy, Tovuz, Samukh, Shamkir, Jalilabad, Ujar, and in the cities of Baku and Mingachevir from 7 April to 17 May 2016, the areas of 489 houses, 2 military units, 2 village cemetery, 3 secondary schools, 1 medical center, 14 farms, corn fields and 1 wine factory were inspected.

As a result, 1,422 unexploded ordinances, 11 anti-pedestrian mines (PMN), 2 POMZ-2 anti-pedestrian mines, 6 anti-tank mines were discovered.

The Agency’s special purpose mobile groups, using trained dogs, continue searching the areas of houses as well as schools and other facilities.
