CEC considers Ilgar Mammadov
Azerbaijan
During the meeting, the CEC considered appeals filed over renewed parliamentary elections on Aghdash constituency No.90.

The CEC considered REAL Movement leader Ilgar Mammadov’s complaint over his disqualification from candidacy by Aghdash Constituency Election Commission.

CEC member Gabil Orujov said his disqualification was due to the fact that the court had upheld the verdict about him.

Orujov added that the Constituency Election Commission had to pass such a decision as Ilgar’s signature papers had been returned empty.

CEC chairman Mazahir Panahov stressed that the Aghdash constituency’s decision is fair because the court had upheld the verdict about him.

“But the Constituency Election Commission had to pass such a decision as Ilgar’s signature papers had been returned empty. That is, in the Constituency Election Commission decision, both grounds for Ilgar Mammadov’s disqualification had to be mentioned,” he said.
