Azerbaijani deputy FM visits Israel, Palestine
Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov paid a visit to Israel and Palestine on May 18-19.
During his visit to Israel, Azerbaijani deputy FM Araz Azimov met with officials of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, MPs and representatives of other government agencies, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry told.

Issues of cooperation between the two countries, the ongoing problems in the Middle East and South Caucasus, as well as nuclear security issues were discussed during the meetings in Israel. It was emphasized that all countries, including Iran have the right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

Araz Azimov in turn gave detailed information about the threats posed by Armenia against Azerbaijan.

As part of his visit to Palestine on May 19, Azerbaijan’s deputy FM met with Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, Secretary General of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Saeb Erekat and Deputy Foreign Minister Taysir Jaradat.

Issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Palestine, as well as the ongoing problems in the Middle East and South Caucasus were discussed during the meetings.

The agreement on cancellation of visas for citizens having diplomatic passports between Azerbaijan and Palestine was signed during the visit.
