Scottish festival in July
The Penticton Scottish Festival Society will host the third annual Penticton Scottish Festival and Highland Games on Saturday, July 2.
The one-day event celebrates Celtic culture with bagpiping and drumming, Highland dancing, heavy events, such as caber toss, and sheep dog competitions.

There is also entertainment, children’s activities, clan information, clothing and equipment booths and food vendors.

The Highland Games circuit extends not only throughout British Columbia, Alberta and the northwest U.S., but also across Canada.

The games will bring not only competitors and their families, but also a dedicated following of people who want to celebrate their heritage or just want to enjoy a day of entertainment and fun.

It is anticipated that the games will attract approximately 3,000 people based on previous years with a goal to expand that number in future years.

As a non-profit society, any and all funds raised will be used directly to support the ongoing success of the games.

Support from community businesses and dedicated volunteers are essential components of a successful event. Organizers are asking for help to support this very worthy event.
