Normandy Four supports idea of OSCE police force for Donbass
Leaders of the Normandy Four countries Russia, France, Germany, and Ukraine supported a proposal to deploy a police mission in the war-torn Donbass under the auspices of the European security organization OSCE as they held a telephone discussion in the small hours of Tuesday, officials at the press of the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko claimed in a report on the discussion.
"The leaders of Ukraine, France, Germany, and Russia voiced support to the unfolding of an OSCE police mission in Donbass and the beginning of consultations on the issue," the report said.

On the face of it, the press services of the Elysee Palace and the Kremlin did not mention any such support in their reports on the conversation.
Also, Poroshenko called attention to the worsening situation in the area of Avdeyevka, a suburb of Donetsk, and said this was an impediments for progress in the peace settlement process.

"The four leaders agreed that a decisive reduction of tensions and full ceasefire were needed in order to continue political dialogue," the press service said.
In the course of the talks, the sides also stressed the importance of a full implementation of the Minsk peace accords, including safe conditions for local elections in Donbass on the basis of Ukrainian legislation and the norms stipulated by the OSCE`s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the press service said.
