Chakrabarti made the remarks at a meeting between an EBRD delegation and Rufat Aslanli, head of the Board of Directors of Azerbaijan`s Financial Market Supervisory Body, in Baku.
Chakrabarti stressed that the EBRD attaches great importance to the relations with Azerbaijan and supports the reforms underway in the country.
In his turn, Aslanli spoke about the state of the Azerbaijani financial market and the medium-term strategy of Azerbaijan`s Financial Market Supervisory Body.
Aslanli said Azerbaijan`s Financial Market Supervisory Body is ready for a close cooperation with the EBRD for recovering the country`s banking sector.
The meeting stressed that there is a great potential for intensifying the Azerbaijan-EBRD cooperation.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) supports the reforms, which are being carried out in Azerbaijan, said Suma Chakrabarti, EBRD`s head.
