Azerbaijan has always stood and will always stand by Turkey, Nazim Ibrahimov, chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Work with Diaspora, told reporters on Thursday.
He was commenting on the German Bundestag’s recognition of the so-called Armenian genocide.
Ibrahimov stressed that no matter what happens after the approval of the resolution “Remembrance and commemoration of the genocide of Armenians and other Christian minorities in 1915,” Azerbaijan will stand by Turkey.
“This is not the first time. A similar attempt was attempted in the Israeli parliament. But that attempt, in which Azerbaijan’s diaspora also intervened, ended up in failure. We need to find out why it happened. We have to work together to prevent the Armenian provocation, and we will succeed in doing so,” he added.
