A campaign launched in Azerbaijan with the initiative of AzVision.az on shutting down the Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) of the Armenian Republic. Diaspora organizations operating within and outside of Azerbaijan support the `Stop Metsamor` campaign.
`The members of Jewish Diaspora plan to actively participate in the `Stop Metsamor` campaign`, the World Ambassador by the Federation for Peace and Inter religious international federation for peace, vice-president of Azerbaijani-Israeli International Association, the president of the Congress of Azerbaijanis on the Middle East and the UN expert on human rights Alex Shapiro-Suliman told AzVision.az.
`The outdated Metsamor NPP is a big threat to the entire region and the neighboring countries. We are going to take serious steps on the issue. As a part of our planned measures we intend to invite Azerbaijani journalists to Israel and provide them with the opportunity to work with not only the Israeli Media representatives, but also with the whole Middle East Media Agencies. Our main purpose is to draw attention of the world community, as well as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regarding the threats posed by the Metsamor NPP`, he said.
Note: 14 Israeli journalists paid visit to Azerbaijan last month. They got aquatinted with the Azerbaijani reality and said, they will deliver it to the entire world.
