Russia unconditionally recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and supports Azerbaijan`s position on many issues,” Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloghlu told.
He said that Russia has been the region`s largest and most powerful country for more than two centuries and still is.
"Naturally, with regard to any issue—be it economic, political, or social issues in a certain sense—in the region, Russia has a great role. As you know, Russia is an OSCE Minsk Group co-chair and a permanent member of the UN Security Council. A lot depends on Russia’s position,” the ambassador said.
He noted that the UN Security Council resolutions could not have been adopted without Russia`s consent.
“However, Armenia is an ally of Russia in the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. Armenia joined the Eurasian Economic Union as a full member. Of course, Russia can not ignore the interests of Armenia. I do not think the interests of Armenia and the Armenian people have to do with occupation of the lands of others," the diplomat added.
