At the same time, Albayrak will head the joint intergovernmental commissions from the Turkish side with China, Libya, Nigeria, Uganda, Venezuela and Algeria.
Previously, Beshir Atalay, Turkish deputy prime minister, was the co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-Turkey intergovernmental commission. Abid Sharifov, Azerbaijani first deputy prime minister, is the co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-Turkey intergovernmental commission.
Turkey is one of the main economic and trade partners of Azerbaijan. At present, Azerbaijan`s investments in Turkish economy exceed $6 billion. There are more than 2,600 Turkish companies in Azerbaijan and nearly 1,600 Azerbaijani companies in Turkey.
According to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, the trade turnover with Turkey amounted to $534.9 million in January-May 2016. Some $414.1 million of this amount accounted for the import of Turkish goods. Turkey ranks third in the list of trade partners of Azerbaijan.
