Dialogue mechanisms between US, Azerbaijan should be reinforced - State Dept
The dialogue mechanisms on strategic partnership between the US and Azerbaijan should be reinforced, said the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Bridget Brink.
She made the remarks during a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov in Baku June 23.

During the meeting with Mammadyarov, Brink pointed out that her country attaches special importance to the development of cooperation with Azerbaijan, said the country’s Foreign Ministry.

She emphasized her country’s support for the measures implemented by Azerbaijan on diversification of economy and development of non-oil sector, as well as projects on regional transport infrastructure.

Minister Mammadyarov, in turn, stressed that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to the US to participate in the 4th Nuclear Security Summit and his bilateral meetings substantially contributed to the further development of relationship.

He briefed the guest about the negotiation process on the resolution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.

Moreover, the sides discussed the current level of bilateral relations, as well as the issues of cooperation in the fields of energy, fight against terrorism, regional security and others between the two countries, as well as issues of international agenda.
