Chief of the State Security Service, Lieutenant-General Madat Guliyev mentioned it in his article on Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan - June 26.
The article notes that the clashes occurred on the contact line of the troops in the summer of 2014, including the downing of the Mi-24 helicopter of the Armenian armed forces in Aghdam district in November, Azerbaijani servicemen’s liberating several strategic heights by counter-attack in response to the provocations of the enemy in April, 2016 once again proved that our armed forces are powerful enough. “The results of the April clashes have military and political significance. It also has a great impact on acceleration of the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. First of all, it should be noted that a small number of Azerbaijani military managed to destroy in the first attack the enemy’s positions which they had strengthened over the years, and reinforce there in a short time. Moreover, the command post in the Armenian-occupied territories was destroyed with the accurate retaliatory fire opened by Azerbaijani military and this once again confirms the high technical and tactical training of our army. Thus, the enemy propaganda’s attempt to create “myth” on “invincibility of Armenian military” failed again. Azerbaijani soldiers once again proved that they are able to gain victory in any complicated combat condition,” reads the article.
According to the article, national security agencies also bear crucial and honorable responsibilities to resolutely protect public and state interests and the security, as well as to ensure the strength and power of our Armed Forces.
