Azerbaijan pleased with principles of co-op with NATO
Azerbaijan is pleased with the principles of cooperation with NATO, said Gaya Mammadov, head of the International Security Department of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
He made the remarks during the opening of the 2016 summer session of the NATO International School of Azerbaijan (NISA) in Baku June 27.

Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation is based on the principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty, said the department head.

“Azerbaijan sees NATO as an organization providing international security. Azerbaijan is a participant of the NATO program “Partnership for Peace (PfP)” and the NATO-led mission in Afghanistan,” Mammadov noted, adding that Azerbaijan and NATO enjoy active political dialogue.

The NISA summer session on the theme “Looking to the Warsaw Summit: NATO’s role in coping with regional challenges,” will end on July 1.

Students and young scientists from up to 40 countries are attending the session.
