John Kerry called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to avoid tensions in Nagorno Karabakh
US Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday in separate telephone conversations urged the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan "to avoid tensions" in Nagorno-Karabakh, where in recent weeks a truce is observed mainly.

"He (Kerry) positively noted that the cease-fire in the region of the contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh is largely observed in recent weeks and urged the presidents to avoid tensions to advance the peace process", said the the State Department.

The Secretary of State also reiterated US readiness to promote a comprehensive settlement of the conflict and called on presidents to continue the dialogue under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group.
