Azerbaijan, France to establish Regional Management Committee to coordinate inter-regional cooperation
"Regional Management Committee will be established between Azerbaijan and France in order to coordinate the inter-regional cooperation," said Azerbaijan`s Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev as he met with Bertrand Fort, Secretary General of the National Commission on Decentralization and Interregional Cooperation of France and Delegate for the external action of local authorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mustafayev hailed the development of relations between Azerbaijan and France, underlining the role of high-level reciprocal visits and bilateral meetings in expanding cooperation between the two countries. He lauded the role of regional cooperation in the development of relations in political, economic, humanitarian and a number of other areas.

"Currently, 13 cities of Azerbaijan are actively cooperating with 11 cities and a province of France. In this regard, international grape and wine festivals which were held in Ganja, as well as the food and agricultural exhibition which was organized in Paris last year and business forums are of crucial importance," Mustafayev said.

He noted that the expansion of inter-regional cooperation could significantly contribute to promoting the two nations` cultures and helping them better know each other.

They also discussed the issue of establishing Regional Management Committee between Azerbaijan and France in order to coordinate the inter-regional cooperation.

Drawing the audience`s attention to Azerbaijan`s just stance on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mustafayev hailed the importance of regional cooperation in raising awareness of the world community about Azerbaijan`s realities.

Fort noted that he was deeply impressed with the rapid development of Azerbaijan. He hailed the two countries` potential for bilateral relations, including the expansion of regional cooperation.
