Damage suffered by Azerbaijani IDPs during April fighting compensated at public expense
Apart from the restoration of the houses of Azerbaijani IDPs in the districts of Aghdam, Terter, and Aghjabadi destroyed during the April fighting, all of the damage suffered by IDPs has been calculated and a bank account opened for each of them and the [calculated] amounts transferred to their accounts, said Ali Hasanov, head of the State Committee for Work with Refugees and IDPs.
He made the remarks during a meeting with US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta in Baku July 1.

Hasanov noted that as a result of the Armenian shelling in April of residential areas in Aghdam, Terter, and Aghjabedi, 17 IDPs lost their lives, 452 houses dwelled by them were damaged—15 of them completed destroyed, and 311 heads of cattle perished.

“Despite all of these, IDPs, along with the local population, continue to live in their places, feeling confident about the power of our army. All the houses damaged in the provocative attacks by Armenians are restored and made better than before on the instructions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. All the work will be completed in a short period of time,” said the committee chairman.
