Azerbaijani parliament raises issue of using Azerbaijani language at international organizations
It is proposed to use the Azerbaijani language at international organizations.
MP Musa Guliyev made such a proposal today in his speech at the parliament’s meeting.

M. Guliyev remarked the recent appointment of MP Asaf Hajiyev as the secretary general of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, stressing that the time has come for the use of the Azerbaijani language at international organizations and our delegations to make their speech in their native language.

“For this purpose, we can think of allocating funds out of next year’s budget to have Azerbaijan-funded interpreters working at all international organizations so that there would be speeches in the Azerbaijani language,” he said.

Speaker Ogtay Asadov said he backs M. Guliyev’s proposal.

“It’s a great idea. We can negotiate with international organizations to realize it”, Asadov stressed.
