NATO countries to step up joint fight against IS - Expert
During the Warsaw summit, NATO countries will agree to jointly fight against the “Islamic State” (IS, aka ISIS, ISIL or Daesh) terrorist group, Ermagan Kuloglu, retired lieutenant-general of the Turkish army and national security expert, told on July 8, AzVision.az reports citing Trend.
Kuloglu said Turkey, which is a NATO member, will also require from the Alliance members to step up the fight against the IS.

He does not exclude that the Warsaw summit’s participants and NATO members will also agree to exchange intelligence data, which is a very important in the fight against the IS.

The expert noted that Turkey also wants NATO countries to unanimously stand against the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), which is the Syrian wing of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), as well as the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD).

The NATO summit in Warsaw will last until July 9.
