Two Armenian citizens killed in Nice attack
Two Armenian citizens were killed in the assault on a Bastille Day celebration in Nice on July 14, which killed at least 84 people, the Armenian Weekly newspaper reported.
Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) tweeted about one of the citizen’s death hours after the attack, which French President Francois Hollande called a “terrorist assault.” The Armenian MFA later confirmed the second death in a separate tweet. No further details about the deceased have yet been released.

MFA spokesman Tigran Balayan said Armenia’s consulate general in Marseilles is in contact with the family of the killed.

Nice’s Armenian priest, Father Grigor Khachatrian said that one of the killed Armenians was a young woman. Speaking to Armenia’s Arevelk news, Father Khachatrian said that while the identity of the deceased was clear, they could not yet officially release any details.
