Cleric accused of plotting Turkey coup not afraid of extradition from US
Turkish opposition cleric Fethullah Gulen said on Sunday he was not afraid of the extradition to Turkey after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made such a request to his US counterpart Barack Obama.
Erdogan and other officials have blamed Gulen staying in self-imposed exile in the United States and his supporters for the coup attempt that took place on Friday in Turkey. Gulen condemned the coup attempt and denied any involvement in it.

"I`m not afraid that I would be extradited. If they decide so, let it be. And, let them build an international team to investigate the attempted military coup," Gulen said in an interview with Russia’s Rossiya 1 broadcaster.

The coup attempt was suppressed by early Saturday, with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim stating that all coup supporters were identified and would be apprehended as the country was returning to normal life. Over 290 people were killed and hundreds were injured during the events, while nearly 6,000 people have already been detained.
