Shaki hosts 3rd International Festival of National Sweets

A solemn opening ceremony of the 3rd International Festival of National Sweets will today be held in the yard of Yukharı Karvansaray hotel complex, Shaki.

The festival is co-organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Shaki City Executive Authority and Azerbaijan National Culinary Association.

The participants in the event include cooks from 20 cities and regions of Azerbaijan, as well as 10 countries, includingTurkey, Indonesia, France, India, Greece, Russian Federation, Chuvash Republic, Uzbekistan, Iran, Ukraine and Ghana.

As Shaki city was declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2016 by TURKSOY, this year`s festival will also see the confectioners from the Turking-speaking countries among the participants.

The festival will also feature a concert program.
