Statista has compiled a long list of countries which have suffered from military coups d`état in the last five years - and despite the accompanying bloodshed in many cases, most don`t come to fruition.

The list includes the Guinea-Bissau failed coups of 2011 and 2012: the country is plagued by an interfering military that continues to disrupt democratic election processes.
The first attempted Libyan coup in April 2013, as well as the second in October 2013 also both failed, and the country is still in turmoil.
One of few successes occurred in 2013 Egypt, when the democratically elected Mohamed Morsi was deposed by the military-led chief General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who still holds the reigns of power today.
