He said that rector of the Qafqaz University Ahmet Sanic voluntarily wrote an application asking to be removed from duty. “He wasn’t assigned to any position. I will act as a rector of Qafqaz University”, Gasimov said.
The rector refuted the reports that Qafqaz University will be renamed. Gasimov said that the university will operate under management of the Baku Higher Oil School. “Student admission to the university will be as before this year. Taking the opportunity I invite literate Azerbaijani students to study at Qafqaz University. They will continue to study at the campus of the Qafqaz University. Students and teaching staff won’t change. I will act as a rector of Qafqaz University,” he said.
