Azerbaijan dismisses possibility of Turkish events recurrence in its Armed Forces
Reports of some media outlets on the possibility of recurrence of the latest developments in Turkey in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces are baseless and don’t reflect reality, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Defense Minister, Lieutenant-General Karim Valiyev told APA on Wednesday.

The Nur movement or other radical religious sects cannot have an influence on the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, said Valiyev, noting that such issues are under the strict control of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.

The Defense Ministry`s leadership, command, as well as relevant security agencies will instantly prevent any such attempt, he vowed.

He stressed that today’s ideological propaganda in the army, preservation of statehood traditions, loyalty to the Supreme Commander-in-chief allow to successfully protect the armed forces from all external and internal radical influences.

“I want to note that Turkish teachers and instructors haven’t been working in the Azerbaijani armed forces since 2000,” said Valiyev. “Our servicemen studying in Turkey, as well as other countries are in constant contact with the Azerbaijani military attaché offices and embassies in those countries and their activities are under constant control.”

The cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in all fields, particularly in the military sphere is developing according to the interests of both countries, said the deputy minister, adding that any attempt to harm this cooperation will be suppressed by both countries.
