Brazil`s Senate to launch President Rousseff`s impeachment trial on August 29
The Senate, the upper chamber of Brazil`s parliament, will open trial for President Dilma Rousseff`s impeachment on August 29, Supreme Federal Court judge Ricardo Lewandowski was cited on Sunday by local media as saying.
Despite possible delays, the decision-making process is expected to last for approximately a week, while the final resolution on Rousseff`s powers is expected to be passed by September, Lewandowski said, as quoted by the local Globo broadcaster.

In May, the Senate suspended Rousseff from office for 180-day trial amid accusations of concealing the country’s budget deficit ahead of the 2014 reelection. Vice President Michel Temer assumed presidency during that period.
