Tajikistan may restore death penalty
The prosecutor said that 170 people are convicted of involvement in the attempted military coup in the country in September 2015, carried out by the Deputy Defense Minister of Tajikistan, Abdulhalim Nazarzoda, TASS reports.
In June 2004, the parliament of Tajikistan approved the law "On the suspension of the death penalty in the Republic of Tajikistan" and "On Amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tatarstan". During the moratorium a death sentence was reduced to imprisonment for 25 years.
